Remote Workers in the Artificial Intelligence Industry | Will Artificial Intelligence Survive the Recession?

 Artificial Intelligence

As we approach recession, businesses and individuals are looking for more cost effective and efficient ways to operate. Although artificial intelligence (AI) may not be as necessary as it once was, it does offer certain advantages. One of the benefits of AI is that it can automate certain tasks that would otherwise be difficult or time consuming to complete. Additionally, AI can help organizations keep track of data and trends more accurately, which could lead to improved decision making. However, there are several potential obstacles that could prevent widespread adoption of AI in the near future. First, advances in computing power mean that more complex algorithms can be implemented at lower costs. This could hurt businesses that rely on expensive software licenses or staff experienced in AI programming. Second, businesses may hesitate to adopt AI if they fear that it will lead to job losses. It is still too early to know how widespread AI will become, but it may have a limited role in the next recession.

Will Artificial Intelligence Survive the Recession?

One of the biggest concerns sweeping the world, and especially our economy, is Artificial Intelligence. What does this term even mean, and where did it come from? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, "Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science concerned with designing computers that can understand natural languages and carry out tasks that normally require human intelligence." From there, it's just a matter of time until AI capacities surpassed those of humans.

So far so good. However, there are multiple concerns associated with this technology, which could potentially hold back its widespread adoption. The first issue revolves around the cost of building and maintaining these large systems. Once built, they would need to be maintained on an ongoing basis as they become more complex and perform more complex tasks. If costs continue to increase as they have in recent years, then we could begin to see massive cracks in the AI ecosystem. Additionally, any algorithm or software designed for AI may become vulnerable to hacking or other malicious activities if not properly secured. Lastly, as artificial intelligence matures it may begin making decisions that have unforeseen consequences for society as a whole - like the disastrous decision made by a Tesla machine to autonomously steer into a barrier on a highway in 2017.

Lack of trust has already seriously hampered the development of autonomous vehicles - imagine what could happen if people became truly fearful of machines that can think for themselves? In short, we may see AI suffer setbacks due to economic recession in ways we haven't seen before if something isn't done to prevent it.
